Poetry: Refining your skills

Saturday 23 June, 9am - 12md

Learn how to make your poetry relevant in today's world and create new and surprising imagery. Workshop by Frances Richardson, recent winner of the Bronze Quill Award for poetry, who has many years experience in conducting creative writing courses in universities and colleges throughout WA.

 Writing Memoirs

Saturday 23 June, 1pm - 3.30pm

Would you like to write a memoir? Don't know where to begin? This workshop by Helen Iles will help you explore creative ways of structuring your memoir. Learn how to use the five senses so that your memoir is rich in sensory detail. Gain valuable hints and avoid pitfalls.

 Writing The Very Short Story

Sunday 24 June, 8.30am - 10.30am

The Very Short Story has become a popular genre. Learn how to manipulate language, hone your crafting skills and edit your piece.

The Very Short Story is to story writing what Haiku is to poetry.

Conducted by Anne Summers, a long time member of the Society, a past President and active member of other writing groups.  Anne cut her teeth on the short story and is now addicted to novel writing.

Writing for Publication

Sunday 24 June, 11am - 1pm

Are you a writer?  Would you like to increase your chances of publication? This workshop will give you guidance on style, technique and marketing.

Conducted by Helen Iles, award winning poet, publisher and author, who has many years experience in conducting creative writing courses throughout WA.
