If I was asked why I like being a writer the answer would simple, I love the idea of waking up each morning and thinking, ‘What shall I write today?’ To me writing should be fun, because if it isn’t what’s the point of doing it. I don’t know if that’s the reason why I have done so well over the years or whether it’s just what has kept me writing and sharing what I have learned as a writer. All I can say is that most of the time I am just having fun.

Along with being a freelance writer I am involved in three businesses:

I have been running ‘Writing to Inspire’ for many years now and it has one simple aim – to inspire, inform and empower writers towards their true potential.

While the website does this in the form of practical and down-to-earth factsheets, links and advice, Writing to Inspire has also seen me hosting a radio show and presenting a television segment (both on writing), invited to speak at one of London’s largest literary festivals, be writer-in-residence at Perth literary festivals and also talk and facilitate writing workshops to many groups and individuals within Western Australia. Have you ever wished there were more local publishers? I did, which is why I opened up ‘Life’s Inspirational Moments’ with Pam Eaves. Between the two of us we source short true-life stories that are motivational and compile them into books on different subjects. (If you think you have a story that might fit this criteria please CLICK HERE to find out more.)

In 2006 we published our first book in this series, ‘Stolen Moments, inspiring and unforgettable stories from people living with Alzheimer’s’. It was the undeniable success of this book that sparked the creation of this business which now includes not only talks and publishing but also an ever increasing online store selling books, gifts and writing resources.
