This is a West Australian story about family, poverty, politics and romance in the tough times of depression and war in the 20^th century. Its hero is a working class Dad, who vowed ‘to keep the home together’ when the mother of this eight young children died. It is the story too of Mairi, girl housekeeper, who found Marius, the love of her life, in her dad’s politics.
